MSA 500 G2 performance

We are running a Proliant Dl380 G4 MSA500 G2 Windows 2003 cluster with the high availibility lit installed and 512 MB cache on each MSA controller. We have a 642 controller in slot 1 of each server that is connected to two MSA SCI ports and are using the integrated 6i controllers for the redundant path to the MSA. We are running Multipath 2.0C and all of the latest drivers and firmware and are seeing some disk performance problems under load. We'd like to know if we can replace the 642 controllers in each server with 6402/512MB controllers to get the benefit of the additional cache over the 642's. I know the 6402's are qualified on the DL380. We would continue to use the 6i controllers for redundancy purposes only. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work? Thanks
