Mandrake Linux on a ProLiant DL320

We would like to install Mandrake 10.0 on a HP ProLiant DL320. The problem is that the fans require a driver to be installed to slow and quite them down. It appears there are only drivers for SuSe and RedHat Linux. Is there a way to make this work, or source that can be downloaded and compiled?

A search through the cdrom and this site did not turn up drivers for Mandrake or source code for the driver.

Thank You.

Re: Mandrake Linux on a ProLiant DL320

Hi Ryan,

Looking at the compatibility matrix for Proliant DL320 and as pointed by Prashant, you are likely to have more problems.

How are you planning to apply HP drivers for other devices in the system, i.e. if the OS is not supported.

I would recommend sticking to the support matrix for OS selection to save you bigger problems in the long run.

Just my 2 cents....

Hope this helps and don't forget to assign points:)

Given that mandrake is built on Red Hat it is not a problem..You may need to modify the /etc/issue file to trick the installer and there are a couple of libaries that need links.. But it can be done
