Medium Changer not recognized by P600 SAS controller (DL380 G4)

I have Purchases an IBM TS3200 SAS Autoloader with a LTO3 drive.

 

It is connected to a HP DL380 G4 with a p600 SAS controller. It is connected to the external port and one of the internal ports has been disconnected in order to use the external port. When booting the controller does not see the medium changer - only the Tape drive, and therefore I have no control over my 44 slots in the changer.

 

The documentation for the autoloader states that the controller must support "LUN scanning" in order to detect both the changer and the drive. Does the P600 not support LUN Scanning?
