Hi,
I would like to find out that is it true for me to install the RAM in the server needs to be in the same type and capacity. For example, can I use 1 of 1GB and 1 512MB? or if I were to use 1GB then the additional RAM needs to be 1GB as well? Please advise

Solution
Hi Lim,
Memory must be populated in one of the following ways:
* Slot 1 only
* slots 1 and 2 only (pairs must be of the same size)
* slots 1, 2, 3, and 4 (pairs must be of the same size and in the example below with slots 1 and 2 the same and slots 3 and 4 the same)
Refer the quick specs under "Memory" section:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12092_na/12092_na.HTML
So, In your case, you can use 1GB in slot 1 and the 512MB in slot 3.
Hope this explains!!!!
Regards,
rmn
