Memory module part numbers

Hi,

We have a planned memory upgrade for a DL580 G7 of an additional 16 x "8Gb 2Rx4 PC3 10600 R" modules , some modules have a part number 500205-071 and some have a part number 500205-071U , does anybody know the significance of the U and the end of some of the part numbers ??

Thanks

Possibly U = refurbished.

Re: Memory module part numbers

500205-071 is an assembly part number. please check the memory matrix for the spare part number:

Re: Memory module part numbers

Ive found out that the letter R is appended to part numbers for a refurbished product

The mystery continues

Re: Memory module part numbers

Hi Jamie,

I searched through quickspecs and many memory documents. Looks like a typing error as HP does not support 4 letter part numbers. Please refer to memory matrix shared in the previous post

Hope this clarifies your doubt.
