Memory on the ML 110 G2
Hello,
I cannot upgrade memory on the ML 110 G2.
I have 256 Mb inside, and I want to upgrade to 2G and 256 Mb.
The memory 256 Mb is : 256 DDR 400 CL3 ECC.
So when I try to put memory like :
- 1GB DDR 400 CL3 ECC REG from HP or another label, it doesn't work. (beep on startup).
I saw in the documentation, only work with ECC unbuffered memory : is it important ? ?
And where can I find a good memory for this server ?
I cannot as well to flash the bios.
Thank you very much

Re: Memory on the ML 110 G2
hi cdcleroux
are you using "1024 MB Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit (1 x 1024 MB)"
Option part: 354563 -B21 ?
or that is a non hp memory?
what is the configuration you're using right now?
256 MB 1 GB 1 GB?
as first rule when you install more than 1 module there must be in pairs.
see the attached file to check rules to add modules to your server.
what do you mean by you can not update the BIOS?
regards

Re: Memory on the ML 110 G2
You must only have matched pairs of memory.
Take out the extra single 1GB DIMM and try again with the pair of 256MB DIMMs.
As supplied, the ML110 G2 has only a single DIMM memory module installed.
This reduces the CPU-memory performance by half and reduces the overall system performance by 10-25%
If you install matched pairs of DIMMs - in the correct sockets - you will improve the performance of the complete system.
See the attached document for more details
