Dear Friends.,,

I want some help from your side..

I have 45 blade server,last week we upgraded Physical Memory [RAM ] all server 4 GB to 8 GB ... all server [bl 20 g4 ]showing inside operating system 8 GB only one server [ bl20 g3 ]having the memory problem.

In booting time i can see 8 GB [ Server will display 8 GB install ], but inside the OS i can see only 4 GB only.. what was the problem and how to resolved the problem.Please any one advice to me.

What operatingsystem do you use? 2003 enterprise?

2003 x86 standard only supports 4 gb

if your using enterprise try adding /PAE to your boot.ini

That system was installed in windows 2003 Enterprise Edition.,,, the same O/s installed other all blade.Only this system only problem..
where i am put the entry , boot.ini file.could you pls tell me the steps.. after editing the boot.ini, system will getting any problem...

*Right click my computer and choose properties.

*Go to the advanced tab and click Settings by Startup and Recovery.

*Where it says "to edit the startup options file manualy, Click Edit.

*boot.ini comes up and by the line multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows Server 2003, Standard" /noexecute=optout /fastdetect /redirect /usepmtimer

Enter /PAE at the end of the line looking like the one above.

*save and reboot server
