Memory rank in DL365

I'm thinking of adding memory to our ProLiant DL365 with two Opteron 2218's. I have become confused about the issue of memory rank. What's the maximum rank that can be installed? Is that still relevant for this generation of AMD processors?

I'm no expert in this, but don't think it's an issue using single or dual-ranked DIMMS.

I've certainly got working configs with 4 Dual Ranked DIMMS per processor (2 Banks), so 8 RANKS per processor are certainly fine. (4 x 2GB x 2 processors - 16 GB).

If you are considering 4GB DIMMS that are QUAD RANKED, then I think you need further research to see if this config works.
