Messages in IML log

Just after installing HP System Health Application and Insight Management Agents for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, I found following messages in IML log:

##########################################
# hplog -v

ID Severity Initial Time Update Time Count
-------------------------------------------------------------
0000 Caution 00:04 12/08/2003 00:14 12/08/2003 0003
LOG: POST Error: 1785-Drive Array not Configured

0001 Caution 01:18 12/08/2003 01:22 12/08/2003 0002

0002 Caution 13:25 12/14/2003 13:37 12/14/2003 0002
LOG: POST Error: 1794-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low

0003 Caution 14:11 12/14/2003 14:11 12/14/2003 0001
LOG: POST Error: 1794-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low

What array is not configured?
What array has battery low?

Thanks for any help

Re: Messages in IML log

Hi

I have seen this happening on our dell servers here but for HP servers for battery charge low not sure if there is any utility to recharge the battery or will hp need to replace the array controller.

HP site suggest that the batteries get re-charged
http://docs.hp.com/en/J6369-90001/ch02s01.html

If the batteries dont hold charge then I think you need to contact HP

Also applying the latest ROMPAQ may help

Re: Messages in IML log

Looking at the dates - I'd guess this to be an older message - or something from when the server was originally configured. The time alone is probably the default time deom the system BIOS. Occasionally, after running the system erase the date and time will default to the BIOS Date and given the hour is 00:02 I'd say this is the case. Unless you were building the server at midnight :)

I'm not sure of the Redhat interface - but if it has an Array Config Util - you could go in there to determine if there actually is something weird going on.

Re: Messages in IML log

Also, with the battery low message - if the server sat for some time - it will discharge if it was not plugged in to a power source. It will charge over time and I believe should reach full charge in the area of 8-12 hours.

Re: Messages in IML log

I think Dave is right.
I will acknowledge the message and look for others in the future.
