Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

May be there are some solutions to this problem, in addition to the replacement systemboard?

Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

In version 1.40 and 1.32, older bios, nothing has changed. The same situation with firmware update - The last firmware update attempt was not successful. Ready for the next update.

Download the ROMpaq version of the firmware update. This will make a bootable USB key. This method will usually recover from an update failure

Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

If you look at the 2 screenshots above, you will the the system hung just while begin of POST and no BIOS available at all (even no backup). So I don't think you can recover from this situation ... unless with a new board.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

ROMPaq with bootable USB key not help. In screenshot above - server stops on "Processor initialization in Progress" - boot not started. Boot order in iLO not changed - One time boot order cannot be changed during POST.

Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

Did you try setting switch 6 on to reset NVRAM? If so what did the screen display during this process?

Re: Microserver Gen8 start fail

NVRAM reset will not work, because it doesn't boot to the stage needed - the box is bricked.

Hope this helps!
