Migrate 2000 server to Server 2008
I am not a power user but no dummy either. I have been trying to migrate profiles from Microsoft 2000 server to Microsoft server 2008 for months. I had tried redirecting (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947025) to generate V2 profiles repeatedly with no luck. I found all the steps in 2000 but some of the wording had me looking in 2008 for the same, if it is there, I have yet to find it. I purchased the Migration Assistant but as soon as I got to the part where it was going to resize the hard drive put that on hold. What is the EASIEST way to migrate? I have even considered crating a new domain and joining the 10 profiles individually... I have a ML310G with 2008 fully loaded and is a member of the domain and AD shows all the users. I have crated a tester profile "tester dude" to work with that is the only member of a group I created "Migration tester". It was that profile I was working on. No even I am getting confused so you must think I'm really out there so I will stop for now and hope someone has come across this before. All I want for Christmas is for Microsoft to be compatible with Microsoft.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Christmas.
