Migrate from 1 physical disc to RAID 1 on DL360 G5

Dear All friend

I have a ProLiant DL360 G5 with just and just single hard drive ( SAS 1 port 10K).

Nowadays I am going to migrate this structure to RAID 1 (Mirror) by adding new hard drive.

Now my question:

1- Is it possible to add new SAS dual-port 10k for mirroring?

2- Is it possible to migrate from non-redundancy structure to mirror level without loosing data or backing up ?!

3- Is 3G or 6G important factor in final result ?!

Thanks

Hello!

1 - yes

2- (you can do the migration in ACU) - here is a post for someone doing it with acucli on a p410i: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/System-Administration/Migrate-RAID0-to-RAID1-online-with-hpacucli/td-p/4756838

3- no, if you get a 6G for a 3G controller it will throttle down. You won't make 6G speed with two disks anyway.
