Migrate from RAID 5 to RAID 0+1

I have a DL360G5 that has 3 drives configured for RAID 5. Can this be re-configured to only use 2 drives with a RAID level of 0+1? without losing data?

The array contoller is a P400i.

Thanks.

Re: Migrate from RAID 5 to RAID 0+1

hi

you mean migrate to RAID 0+1 and remove 1 HDD?

I think you can do it and the HDD left is going to be mark as unused so you can create another logical drive

Re: Migrate from RAID 5 to RAID 0+1

Hello,

this is not possible. The P400i would let you migrate, because you need and even number of drives to create a RAID 1+0 volume. You need to backup the data, delete the logical volume and the array and recreate the array with two drives (you can add the third drive as spare for the array). Or you add a disk to the array (so you got four drives) and then you can migrate to RAID 1+0.
