Migrating OS from ML370 G3 to G4

I like to get some opinions from you guys about this:

We had a very strange problem on our Proliant ML370 G3 (2x Xeon 3.06 GHz & 6 Gb RAM)
OS install (W2K3 SP1) worked fine.
Every time installing SAP it rebooted.

We checked everything. (RAM, CPU,...)
even changed the disks to identical hardware, but still the same problem.
My opinion: Software Problem
but my boss does not trust the hardware anymore so he bought an ML370 G4 and wanted to switch the disks to the new hardware. So we did.

Do you guys have any experience with migrating the OS from a G3 to G4?

It won't be a big problem if you move with same controller or Updated driver

Make backup - still rule of thumb

Update PSP, and MS patches before moving and after once again

Don't worry about it, as long as you have a Smart Array controller in both servers it will not be a major issue, of course keep in mind that PSP must be updated, and do not mix the HDD physical positions.
