We have a Proliant DL585 G7 that we are resurrecting from the dead. I notice it has two USB connectors inide the chasis. It is possible to connect drives to those and mirror the two USB drives? I can't see to find an option in setup and the array configuration only deals with the rack of drives.
Edit: My original post statied it was sata drives. I meant the two USB connectors inside the chassis directly on the board. Doh!

SolutionHi
Raid configuration is possible only with driver connected to the Smart Array controller. we cannot do raid configuration for the USB drives.

Re: Mirror USB Drives on Proliant DL585 G7
There is no hardware based solution, but you can google for some tools to sync 2 USB devices.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Mirror USB Drives on Proliant DL585 G7
Going to run VMware off a flash drive installed inside the chasis. Thought it would VERY convienent to have the OS (VMware) mirrored to the 2nd USB drive. I'll just run it with one.

Re: Mirror USB Drives on Proliant DL585 G7
There is a solution with mirrored SD-cards, but it is only supported with Gen9 servers.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
