Mirrored Drive Problem

I have a Proliant DL 360 with two 72.8 GB hot swap drives. The drives are mirrored. I have ordered a new drive but in the mean time the server periodically fails and reboots. It can't get all the way back up because of the failed drive. I have other drives that I can substitute in the mean time but they are the 36.4 GB drives. The server is ot using anywhere neare even 10 GB. Will these work? Is there any way that I can bypass checking for the mirrored drive temporarily?

Re: Mirrored Drive Problem

You could try pulling out the failed drive and rebooting. It should recognize that the mirror drive is not there and boot fully.

Re: Mirrored Drive Problem

Ed,

The array controller will not allow you to use a smaller sized HDD in the mirror. A drive of equal or greater size will be required.

Re: Mirrored Drive Problem

Thanks for the information. Fortunately the drives came in yesterday and we are back up and running fine.
