Mirrored system disks and disaster recovery

Hi,

All of our servers have mirrored system disks. When we perform major changes to the operating system- residing on the system disks- we break up the mirror as a sort of roll back scenario. Sometimes the Smart Array Controller asks to hit F1 to be able to continue, sometimes F2 followed by F1. Are there white papers or manuals available on this issue, as I have to write a workinstruction on this issue and I can' t seem to understand it completely?

Kind regards,
Werner

Re: Mirrored system disks and disaster recovery

You could take a look in the individual Smart Array controller user guide. For example Section E in the one for the SA-532 contains a good explanation:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/user_reference_guides/227227e1.pdf

I guess it's the same for all recent SA controllers.
