Mixing 18.2 and 9.1GB SCSI Drives

I have a Proliant ML370 with 5 x 9.1GB drives with 4 drives linked through RAID 5 and the 5th setup as an online spare.

I also have an 18.2GB available. Can I mix 18.2GB and 9.1GB drives in the same RAID 5 array or alternatively , make all 5 9GB Drives into the array and have the 18,2GB as an online spare?

Re: Mixing 18.2 and 9.1GB SCSI Drives

you can do that because always the online spare drive's capacity should be equal or more than the drives in the array. However, when you add a new drive you can expand the array.
This process is very lengthy one. So take a verified back up of your data and break the raid and reconfigure the raid 5 with 5 * 9.1 gb drive and 18.2 gb as online spare.
