Ml110 G6 fan failure

Hi

 

Is it normal for our ML110 G6 server to shut down when a fan fails?

When we boot with only the CPU fan working it's noisy, continues to boot for around 50 seconds then shuts down with

the amber fan failure LED on the motherboard lit.

 

Would just like to know for future reference. (fan on order)
