Ml370 G3 System Board

Hi guys.

We have 2 ML370 G3 rackmount servers here I believe with the 290559-001 system board. Im thinking of looking on ebay for a server to use as spare parts incase of hardware failure.
I know the later system board with 316864-001 is backwards compatible. IF this new one was put into a server that previously had the older 290559-001 board would 2003 server stll boot up ok ???? or does the newer board contain too many hardware changes ?

Hi Jason,

316864-001 System Board is fully backward compatible with the other System Board. You would be able to book Win2003 with the new board without any issues. I have done this once.
