Monitoring Hardware Failures

I'm trying to monitor any hardware failures that are logged to the Windows Event Log e.g. fan failure, psu failure, preptive disk failure etc.

Does anyone know of a list of these events which shows the SOURCE & EVENT ID of the relevant errors to enable me to use our monitoring system to pickup these specific errors/warnings?

Ideally it'd be for Proliant G2 to the latest.

Thanks

Re: Monitoring Hardware Failures

Thanks for the info Happy

But I'm after a list of what events the HP Agents create when they detect a hardware fault e.g.

Source = HP Insight Agent
Event ID = 1000
Message = Disk 4 state change from 1 to 5

It's the Source and ID I need to tie down to pick this up for monitoring/alerting purposes

Re: Monitoring Hardware Failures

See http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library --> System Management Homepage for HP ProLiant for the document "Microsoft Windows Event ID and SNMP Traps Reference Guide"

What "monitoring system" are you using?

Re: Monitoring Hardware Failures

Thanks David

That's exactly what I'm after.

We use a product called Nimbus by Nimsoft.
