More appropriate Kernel for Proliant DL380 G5.

Hi all!

Does the Intel Xeon E5405 processors have support for x86_64? It had thought that yes and even I see 'lm' between flags of the cores that I have understood that means that.

I'm testing two Proliant DL380 G5 with two processors of this type using Debian GNU/Linux Etch but trying to boot with a kernel 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64 I obtain the following message:

This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detects an i686 CPU Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropiate for your CPU.

And trying to boot Debian GNU/Linux Etch with a kernel 2.6.18-6-amd64 I obtain the following message:

You cpu does not support long mode. Use a 32 bit distribution.

It would seem that, if we want to use some kernel of Debian repository, most appropriate would be the 686.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Daniel
