Hi!
Can we move a RAID5 (pos 1-2-3) to other bays 5-6-7 without data loss?
This ML350G6 has an issue... Every year the disc on bay 1 must be replaced...
I would like to try different bays. Is it possible?
An advice I'll aprecciate.
Thank you!

Re: Moving RAID 5 to another bays
Yes you can do this but not online. You have to shutdown and power off the server, move the disks and then power on/boot up.

Re: Moving RAID 5 to another bays
Thank you for your reply
If any error ocurs data will be safe?
The array will be built automatically?
Do we need to remove previous array?

Solution>... If any error ocurs data will be safe?
What kind of errors? You should always have backups of your data and more importantly have backups before you make changes like this.
> ...The array will be built automatically?
The correct word would be "discovered" or "recognized". The array controller will scan the disks in the new locations and will find the array information on them and will show the array as before.
> ...Do we need to remove previous array?
NO!!! Do NOT remove the previous array. If you do, you will lose all your data.
