Moving RAID controller between PCI slots

Hi all,

Forgive me if this is a stupid question as it may be but i would just like to get some assurance from experts.

We have a AiO1200 NAS box (see link below) and want to get a HP NC364T PCI Express Quad Port Gigabit Server adapter (435508-B21) for it as it is listed as an option for it.

https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/05/AG655A.htm

I believe that the quad PCIe card only comes in a full height PCIe form (due to having so many NIC ports) but as can see from the link above the full height PCIe slot in the NAS is occupied by the P400 RAID controller.

My question is am i able to move the RAID controller to the other PCIe slot simply and easily or will doing so mean lossing my current RAID configurations?

Re: Moving RAID controller between PCI slots

Appologies, i have posted in the wrong section. Can someone move this to:
Storage > network attached storage (NAS) ?

Thanks

Re: Moving RAID controller between PCI slots

The raid configuration is stored on the harddisks so moving/replacing the controller is not a problem.
