My ML370 G3 server is rebboting frequently

Greetings,

We have recently installed an ML370 G3 Server, we have installed an Oracle application on this server.
This application need some PL/SQL programs to be exectued, the time duration of those programs could exceed 1 hour.
The problem is that, whenever a PL/SQL program is run, the server boot after 30min of their execution without any apparent reason!
In Integrated Management Log we obtain the following message:
ASR detected by system ROM
Post Error: critical error occured prior to disk power-up

We tried to disable ASR, the reboots still occur and we have the following message:

POST Error: A critical error occured prior to this power-up
Unrecoverable Intermodule Bus Error (Error code 0)

Could anybody help us ?

Thanks for you support

Have you loaded the latest bios on your server? If not, there are fixed for some erratic system behavior and fixes for processor load behaviors in it.

Let us know if this does not clear up? -john

Re: My ML370 G3 server is rebboting frequently

Greetings,

We have installed the following BIOS patch cp004922 as advised
Now, we have a new behavior: when the programs are executed, after a period of 1 hour (more or less), the screen becomes blue, with the following error message:

Hardware Malfunction / Call your hardware vendor for support / The system has halted

Could anybody help us ?

Thanks for your support

Re: My ML370 G3 server is rebboting frequently

Sir:

Please contact HP directly and inform them of the action you have taken (i.e., bios update) and let them know of the Unrecoverable Intermodule Bus Error. You will need to give them the serial number from the server to get warranty support. You either have a Mainboard or Memory Module problem that needs to be replaced.

They will likely have you or a technitian go through diagnostics to determine the problem device.

Re: My ML370 G3 server is rebboting frequently

We've been suffering from the same problem on 2 of our 4 ML370 G3 that we purchased last August.
The problem has been resolved after HP Tech replaced back plane of the server.
Check with HP support to replace back plane of your server.
