NC375T quad nics in ProLiant DL380 G6 last 2 ports don't function.

I have a ProLiant DL380 G6 with two Quad NC375T nics running on VMWare ESX 4.

The last 2 ports on the nics do not pass network traffic.

I have tried the solution to Document ID: c01989775 http://www13.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en&docId=emr_na-c01989775

but it does not resolve the issue.

I have loaded ESX 4(RTM) as well as ESX 4 Update 1.

I installed both drivers the latest and the prior one, and neither work, in fact v404 just causes a kernel panic.

vmware-esx-drivers-net-nx-nic_400.4.0.404-1.0.4.00000.185360.iso
vmware-esx-drivers-net-nx-nic_400.4.0.407-1.0.4.00000.213274.iso

So I have 2 cards with only 4 of the 8 ports usable.

The OS displays the nics & ports and even shows that it receives packets on the 4 faulty ports.

Has anyone ran into this and possible have a fix?

Thank you for your time,
Scott

Re: NC375T quad nics in ProLiant DL380 G6 last 2 ports don't function.

So we replaced the NC375T (Qlogic Chipset) with the known working NC364T (Intel 82571EB Chipset) and all 12 ports are working.

Not sure if itâ s a problem with the driver, bios, vmware, or the DL380 G6, but I hope it gets fixed soon.

Here are other posts about my issue over at vmware, perhaps posting this in the ESX forum here would have received more bites.
