NC522SFP Gigabit ethernets show "Network cable unplugged"
Hiya,
I have a pair of DL380 Storage Management Servers running Windows Storage Server 2003 R2. Each has an NC522SFP gigabit network card in it with a shortrange SFP.
The cards report "Network cable unplugged" in windows and there's no connectivity. Also, the network cabling team report that there's no light coming out of the connections on the cards, suggesting that although the server recognises the cards it's not actually driving them properly.
Has anybody else had similar problems with these cards and any ideas how it can be resolved please?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Re: NC522SFP Gigabit ethernets show "Network cable unplugged"
We ran theese cards in our vmware farm about a year ago. The cards gets to hot so they drop connection every once in a while. HP have recreated this in their lab. We sent the cards back and bought a intel card instead.
But the cards never stopped working. So in your case it seems like the SFP. is it a HP SFP?
Regards.
