NC6136 and Proliant 6000

Hello

I'm using a Proliant 6000 and trying to install NC6136 1000 SX NIC.
I released the install by smartstart 5.50 with NT4 or Windows 2000 Advanced server with the same result:

the server reboot automatically or halt just after loading the driver...

(Hardware Malfunction... NMI Parity Check / memory Parity Error message in windows 2000 advance server case)

BIOS ROMPaq Proliant 6000 P43 (12/27/99)

Does anyone know this problem - can anyone help to solve it?

Thanks

Re: NC6136 and Proliant 6000

Have you tried moving the NIC to different slots? Where did you get the driver for this NIC? How fast is the processor in this system?

Re: NC6136 and Proliant 6000

I tried in different 64bit Slots ...same error (extended or normal)

The NIC driver was first taken from embedded COMPAQ CDROM and after taken lastest from the COMPAQ-HP web site (SP21892.exe and sp21894.exe)(January 29, 2003 release)

(the driver from CDROM works with ML530 G2 Server, the NIC in 64bits/66Mhz pci slot)

The processors used are 3x PII Xeon/400-1Go
with a SMART-3100ES controler card, 2,3Go RAM

This server runs without hardware error with a 3COM 10/100 card but it isn't the goal...

Re: NC6136 and Proliant 6000

Does the server run after you remove the card? Or does it still crap out?

Re: NC6136 and Proliant 6000

after removing the card :

- NT4 : the server reboot automatically, system must be removed and re-installed.

- Windows 2000 Advanced server : waiting for the next step of componants installation.
