NC7770 & ML350 G4 PCI-X Conflict

Colleagues,

can any one help?
I have a problem installing a NC7770 Gb NIC in a ML350 G4, although both are PCI-X, "UNSUPPORTED PCI CARD DETECTED" msg is displayed upon installing the card in any of the slots.
Server and NIC firmware are the latest.

NB: no problem if connected to an ML350 G3

Your feedback is appreciated

Farid

Hi Farid,

Do you get this problem if you disable hyper-threading in the BIOS (F9)?

It might be something to do with the number of CPU's and interrupts used. See the following article relating to the G4's.

Also, there is a very new BIOS (Issued 6th December 2004), so make sure you have this installed.

I hope this helps,
