NDIS 3.0 Packet driver failed to start

Our Compaq Proliant Server 3000 has a Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI UTP Bus 2 Nework Card.

We can ping this Compaq server by ip or netbios name from any other machine and vice versa. It can even access the internet. All network settings are correct.

But we can not browse it from network neighborhood, server not accessible.

When I restart the server it will allow others to browse it then after a while, Server is no longer again accessible.

This error message appears in Event Viewer : NDIS 3.0 Packet driver Service Failed to start due to the following error : A device attached to the systems is not functioning.

I reinstalled the TCP/IP Protocol and applied Service Pack 6a but still it did not solve the problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: NDIS 3.0 Packet driver failed to start

What else do you have installed in the network configuration? Have you tried clearing out the network configuration and then reinstalling it?
