NIC Initialization Slow

It seems that the NIC on the NT Machine is not initializing until the machine has been up for about 30 seconds or so. This causes some of the services that try to log onto the domain to fail. We have to manual go in and start those service. Do you know anything that might be causing the problem, or how I can get it fixed.

Re: NIC Initialization Slow

First upgrade the NIC driver to the latest version. Then change the NIC driver properties so that the NIC port speed and duplex mode are hard set to match the hub or switch the NIC is connected to. If you have the driver configured to auto-detect, it can take a while for the NIC to configure its self when the system boots.
