NIC Teaming

Is it possible to use the NIC teaming feature with the built-in 100mb nic and a NC3123 in an 1850R? Or do I need to install two NC3123's? Thanks.

COMPAQ NIC TEAMING

The network controllers must not necessarily be identical. They must, however, use the same NC driver and belong to the same group:

Group-1: Inter Chip set / Network Fault Tolerance and Load Balancing Support

- NC3131 and NC3134
- NC3122
- NC3123
- Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI Inter
- Netelligent 10 TX PCI Intel

Group-2: TLAN Chipset / NFT Support Only

- Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI UTP (embedded nic in ProLiant 1850R!!!)
- Netelligent 10 T PCI
- Netelligent 10 T/2 PCI
- NetFlex-3
- Dual Port Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI

Group-3: AMD Chipset / NFT Support Only
- Netelligent FDDI cards

That means:
In your case it is NOT possible to use the NIC teaming feature with the built-in 100mb nic (= Netelligent 10/100 TX PCI UTP) and a NC3123 in an 1850R!
