Re: NIC for DL360 G1
Not appearing in the quickspecs implies it is not "supported" that may or may not mean it wont "work" as those two words have distinct meanings in "HPspeak" :)
Supported, known to work -> warm fuzzies all around
Supported, not known to not work -> an HPite may be in trouble
Supported, known to not work -> an HPite is in trouble
Unsupported, known to work -> lucky today, unlucky tomorrow?
Unsupported, not known to not work -> there but for the grace of Turing
Unsupported, known to not work -> no, it was not deliberate ;-)
If the DL360 G1 has a PCI-X slot free, and you have a suitably "new" e1000 driver on your system, the NIC might "work" even if it is not "supported" However, being unsupported means you are on your own if it does not work, or in the unlikely event it does something unpleasant to the system.
Given that Quickspecs are not always kept up-to-date, you might find the HP Branded dual-port PCI-X GbE NICs and check _their_ quickspecs to see if any of them mention the DL360 (G1).
