NMI Parity Error
My Proliant has 64Mb of memory and I am trying to upgrade it with 2X256Mb SDRAM DIMMS they are not compaq memory but they are the recommended 3rd party memory for the system. The bios recognized the memory but during the windows 2000 boot up I got a blue screen NMI Parity Error. I've seen several posting regarding similar problems but none of them had a clear answer. Is there any reason why this memory wouldn't work? Or is there anything that I need to do to get it to work.
let me know.... thanks,
david

Re: NMI Parity Error
Hi, if your system is a PII 350 and up you are ok with SDRAM. And if after a system rom bios you still get some nmi error you have to get Compaq memory. Non Compaq memory is not supported on proliant servers.

Re: NMI Parity Error
what do you mean "if after system rom bios"? Are you suggesting a bios update? Also are you saying that there is no third party ram that works in proliant servers?
