Re: NOISY FAN on ML350 G5
The server is inside an air-conditioned office.
Once every 7-10 days the server would start to make a lot of noise. A shutdown was needed and I had to unplug the power cable before power on in order to stop the noise.
HP replaced the PSU but the problem stayed the same, so I learned to live with it.
However during the last month the noise starts almost every day and I have to restart the server every day - and this is not acceptable!!
I called HP support again and they told me that these servers are designed to operate only inside computer rooms with very low temperatures. They also said that the problem is with the PSU and that there is no solution for it.
However they offered to replace again the PSU just in case...
I'm waiting for the replacement but I really need a permanent solution!!!
Anyone??
