NT4 multiprocessor support

Hello,
We have Compaq Proliant DL380 single processor running NT4 with SP6a. with mirrored drive
We bought HP Proliant DL580 with two processor and smart 5i controller.
I was able to take the mirrored drive from DL380 and mirror it on DL580 and everthing is working fine.
question: NT is still uni processor on DL580, documents on the NET and MS says,to upgrade NT to multiprocessor mode we can use UpToMP utility but if it is Compaq system, use NTSSD utility on smartstart cd. I have smartstart 7.x cd and I can not find NTSSD on CD or on HP web site.
Can someone point me to right place to get this utility ?
thanks
charles

Try this link:

I THINK maybe what you want is the ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.
The NTSSD was originally a collection of drivers now in the form of the Compaq Support Paq (forgive me if you already knew that ;-) ).
Note, before you upgrade the system management drivers, check the BIOS version on your smart card. If it as an older version, you will want to update the BIOS firmware on it to avoid any potential BSODs.

Also, you might want to check out this link that might have some helpful info for you:

Re: NT4 multiprocessor support

Hello,
Andrzej , thanks I will look into the link

Bryan,
PSP is intalled and I have read windowsnetworking.com article, which says, if you have compaq hardware, run the ntssd.
that is why I was looking for nttssd instead of edit setup.log/service pack reinstall route.

thank you both for your time, I will probably go with setup/SP treinstall route.

Re: NT4 multiprocessor support

Charles, I THINK I've found an NT 4.0 version of Compaq's NTSSD that might help. Check out

Wish I would have found this sooner!

Well, I HOPE this could help. The link above has a readme, so you might want to read that before using just to make sure I didn't steer you wrong!
