NVMe drives not detected in DL360 Gen9 server
I have a DL360 Gen9 server with the 2 bay NVMe enablement kit. I'm trying to use 2 Samsung PM983 SSD drives in them but the system seems to refuse to recognize them. On power on the lights flash for a bit and then turn off. If I press the power button on the drive carrier later the lights blink, but never go solid.
I was able to use some Intel NVMe drives in a DL380 and so was hoping I would not have to use HP drives, but perhaps there are some other requirements I'm not aware of? Thanks.

Re: NVMe drives not detected in DL360 Gen9 server
Hello,
Nvme disks not showing in SSA?
I suggest you use hpe parts for the server to work stably.
Erdogan.

Re: NVMe drives not detected in DL360 Gen9 server
We have some Intel NVMe drives working fine in a DL380 Gen9. Tried one of the Samsung drives in that and it worked fine. Tried one of the Intel drives in the DL360 and no go. The DL360 iLO device inventory does see the 6 port NVMe card in slot 1, but doesn't see any NVMe controllers attached to that. SSA does not see the drives either.
Latest theory is that the DL360 is missing the high-performance fan kit. Any thoughts about that?
