I have two drives as RAID 1. I want to get a spare but without stopping the server I am not sure of the make and model. Can I in fact just buy any drive as long as it is the same capacity? I think it should be a SAS type?

Re: Need a new RAID 1 drive.
Without the make and model of the server you will not be able to determine if you can add the disk with out stopping/shutting down the server.
You need more nformation before you purchase.

Re: Need a new RAID 1 drive.
if your using the embedded RAID controller then the drives are SATA not SAS.

Re: Need a new RAID 1 drive.
Many thanks. I will get some SATA of that make.
