Need for Smart array 532 Ctrlr for ML530G2

Recent purchAse of ML530G2 for telephony applcations with redundancy.

Surprised to learn that a smart array controller is needed, not standard. I want to use the ACU to cofigure array, but "controller not detected".

I am about to purchase a "Compaq 225338-B21 Smart Array 532 Controller"...is this what I need to configure arrays using ACU on the ML530G2? Will this card's form factor fit the PCI-x backplane?

I have 6 x 34G drives in cage A, all seen by Windows Svr 2003 disk mgr but I cannot use ACU to create array. I pulled slack from under backplane, SCSI cage A cable WILL reach the 532 controller card.

If you have budget limitation, with 4 drives 5302 with 128/256MB for telephony applications would be enough.

If you have future expansion plans you can add additional cage and than add additional 5300 or 6400 Controller.
