Network Card Output Queue Length
When running the Windows 2000 Performance Monitor on a Compaq DL360 the Output Queue Length object for the Compaq Network Interface appears as 4294967136. Microsoft recommends that the output queue length for the network interface be no higher than 1.
What would cause the output queue length on the network card to be so high and how can I correct the this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Network Card Output Queue Length
Is this an SMP Machine?
If yes, then what you are seeing is normal.
(Performance reasons because of spinlocks)
If no, I would suggest it is some type of problem with the network card driver.
See which you have & reply back.

Re: Network Card Output Queue Length
Yes, it is a SMP machine. That explains the problem.
Thanks.
