Network

Hi,

I want to put this server into 2 VLANs, on our cisco catalyst switch.
So I configured the port of the switch to be an 802.1q trunking port.
Gave the ProLiant two IP addresses.
What else do I have to do on the ProLiant to get the thing running?
Or isn't it possible with the build in interface?

Re: Network

Hello,
This is not a Hard Ware issue you'r encountering so I would suggest you contact you OS manufacturer which in your case would be MS or you may have to contact CISCO folks to help you set up VLANS.

Re: Network

The NIC has to support 802.1Q.
So it Depends on the O/S and the NIC being used.
Further information would be necessary to establish if it is possible.

Bottom line is Compaq/HP has to have a driver for that NIC that supports 802.1Q in your Operating System.
