New Computer unable to detect by RDP Server
I tried to manually add a new computer and after reboot, the RDP Server still not able to recognise it because when I tried to execute the Remote Control, it reported "Select an active computer to perform this action". Anyone has any experience in performing manually added a managed computer with OS installed into the rdp server.

Re: New Computer unable to detect by RDP Server
Hi,
you did not have the remote agent installed on your server. The best thing to add a new OS installed server in RDP is to do the following steps:
Boot your new server from the network card and select Altiris Bootworks Initial Deployment. Wait until you see the message at the server console "The deployment server has instructed Bootwork to wait". After that the server is shown as a new computer in RDP. Reboot your server from the installed Operating system and change to your RDP Server. In RDP open the Remote Agent Installer (3rd Icon from right in the RDP Toolbar). Press "next" twice and add your new server (you can browse for your server within the network). After that you will be prompted for a user name and password - press finish and the remote agent will be installed on the system. Then you will see the server with the correct name and you can modify the settings for the remote agent (e.g. activate Remote Access).
Give it a try - it works fine.
