New DL180 G6 no post
I've just powered up a new DL180 G6
It makes an awful lot of fan noise, lights the disks and DVD drive, and does nothing. No POST, no lights on the keyboard, no action on the DVD.
Any ideas. It's as delivered, HP memory, HP disks, USB keyboard (I can't find a standard keyboard port) No additional NICs.

Re: New DL180 G6 no post
hi,
we have around 14 of this servers, as you already mentioned, if you start the server it will be lot of noise, but after around half minute the noise will go in normal state.
if you don't see post message, and the server don't show any screen output on the monitor, i would recomned to call to HP and open a HW case.
yes the server doesn't have any PS2 connectors, so only USB mouse/keyboard can be used with this servers.
you have 2 integrated NIC, one of them is used for ILO100 interface ( management ), but if you don't like this solution, you could buy a dedicated ILO100 port.

Hi Michal,
Do you know the part number for a dedicated ILO100 port?
