New DL360 G4 wont Recognize Drives

We bought a brand new DL360 G4 and it won't recognize the drive in either bay. We spend 1/2 a day trying to diagnose the problem. My techs say the machine is bad (I don't want to believe them). Is there a BIOS setting or something else that will get this up and running?

Thanks, Brian

Re: New DL360 G4 wont Recognize Drives

Hi Brian:

This is a known issue with the DL360G4 - from shipping or the scsi backplane is not seated properly.

- here is what you need to do ;

1- open up the cover for the server
2- push hard on the scsi backplane where the drives connect or reseated; you can follow the manual for that server ; maint. and service guide; chapter # 2.

3- once you push on the scsi backplane this will be behind the 3 blue power supply fans.
- you should hear it click on the system board.

4- power on the server and F8 on the 6i controller ; now drives should be detected.
