New ML350 G5 SBS 2008 x64 hangs intermittently
The server seems to hang for 5-10 seconds, seemingly at random.
When i does, the following appears in the event logs.
Log Name: System
Source: HpCISSs2
Date: 7/22/2009 2:22:27 PM
Event ID: 129
Task Category: None
Level: Warning
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER1.paragon.local
Description:
Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued.
Event Xml:
\Device\RaidPort0
I did see the article on the HP support site (C00810284), however this is Server 2008 x64, not 2003.
It also Does affect the functionality of the server... unlike the situation in that article.

Re: New ML350 G5 SBS 2008 x64 hangs intermittently
This server had 3 x 300GB SFF SAS drives in it.
I had a second identical server in the office, so I pulled the drives and put them in the second one and the problem comtinued. This ruled out all the hardware in the server, except for the drives.
I called HP with this information, and they agreed that it must be one, two, or all of the drives. Since there was no way to tell which one it was, they sent me 3 new drives.
I reinstalled on the 3 new drives, and the problem was gone.
I did notice that the new drives I got from HP were made in a different country, had a different firmware, and were also a different model number than the originals(Same HP Spare part number though).
