Newbe Looking to set up Proliant 3000 with Windows 2003
I have a an older Proliant 3000 (500mhz or 550mhz I believe) and I am looking for information about installing Windows Server 2003. I have used the Smartstart disc to erase everything that was on the machine, and I want to install off of a bootable Windows Disc. 2003 was already installed on the machine and we tested to make sure that the computer recognized the CDR before we erased everything. It seems like the disc will not boot off the Windows CD? Will this URL help me? http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_1112.html
I am brand new to this, and being very delicate with it. Takes a TON of patience.
Thank you

Re: Newbe Looking to set up Proliant 3000 with Windows 2003
Well, I said I was a newbe and I wasn't lying. Turns out that the CD we were attempting to boot off of is not bootable (doh). We are in the search of an ISO image to make a bootable CD. If you guys have any helpful hints or advice I would be very open to hearing it.
Thanks

Re: Newbe Looking to set up Proliant 3000 with Windows 2003
www.nu2.nu may help
Also I belive there is a batch file that you can run to create something like four disks (like in win2k). nu2.nu helped me build a rescue and boot CD's for windows. I now use linux. So I dont know much about 2k3 disk structure but im sure its on there due to the disk becomming unbootable after slipstream of service pack.
hope this helps

Hi,
This might help if you have the Server 2003 CD but it won't boot.
