We have a proliant 1600 using the onboard nic (netelligent 10/100tx). Every few minutes or so it drops off of the lan and then comes immediately back on-line. This has been happening since we re-patched it into a new switch. We have checked all the settings on the switch and all cabling is o.k. Does anyone know of compatibility problems with certain cards and switches or driver/firmware issues.

Solution
David:
I have had a lot of experience with 1600 NIC's failing in that manner. Since the 1600 is way out of warranty (unless you purchased a service contract); your best solution is to get a PCI NIC and write off the onboard. Save yourself the heartache.
