No SCSI DEVICE FOUND

Dear All,
I have a problem while installing Unixware 7.1.1 in Prolinia ML350 G3 with Smart Array 642 Raid Controller with 6 x 36.GB HDDs.

We have configured RAID 5. Though SmartStart recognises SCSI Devices while booting it gives an error "NO SCSI DEVISES FOND" and allow us to continue with installation upto HBA Loading.

But after loading all drivers it gives an error saying "no root hard disk found"

Would be grateful if any body ahs the solution.

Re: No SCSI DEVICE FOUND

Hi,

I believe that you need the "Extended Feature Supplement" (EFS) kit for Unixware 7 to support all the Compaq hardware features, including the 642.

It can be loaded from the following link.

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/21441.html

The full set of drivers/firmware for the ML350 G3 running Unixware 7 can be found here.

http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/25_4678.html

I hope this helps,

Re: No SCSI DEVICE FOUND

Thanks Mr. Brian,

We have loaded UNIX with the help of same EFS the same.

But it still gives the same error and allows us to load the OS.

Thanks once again.
