I have problem with my Proliant 5500 server that no scsi device detected. I use 3200 smart array controller. If the problem on the smart controller, can i just change the controller? and for the current configuration will automatic appear? so I can get my data.

Re: No SCSI Device detected
Hi,
are you getting this message during POST? This might not come from the Smart Array controller, but from the onboard SCSI controller. Is there any POST error code, like 1783 or similar? If you boot with SmartStart what can you see in Array Configuration Utilty?
If the 3200 controller is really defective, the data on the disks should still be OK. Another Smart Arry controller would be able to read it.
Regards,
Stephen
