No SCSI devices detected

I just purchased a used Proliant 1850R server with four new hard drives. It has a Smart Array 431 controller. It didn't come with any documentation or CDs. After initial boot I ran the Option ROM Configuration utility and successfully recognized and created a logical drive with RAID 5. Afterwards I got the error message "No SCSI devices detected" and the NT install diskettes could not find a drive to install to. This is the first Compaq server I've ever worked on. Do I need any particular utilities? If so where can I get them? Is there something I can do as it is? Please help! Thanks in advance - Michael

Re: No SCSI devices detected

You need to run the System Configuration Utility , make certain the Smart 431 is listed as " Controller Order First " .
